Sheila - Licensed Massage Therapist/Owner
I’m so excited to meet you and begin your journey to living more pain free and active! I believe that with regular massage therapy you will be able to increase your energy, decrease the amount of stress you live with and overall live a healthier, more aware lifestyle! I graduated from Cortiva’s Chicago School of Massage Therapy in October of 2007. It is there that I learned how impactful massage can be! I not only learned how to give it but also how to fully receive massage as part of my wellness approach to living. I decided then that regardless of what path I take in life, massage therapy will be with me on every journey I take! I feel fortunate to be able to have taken many classes to further myself in the massage world with some of the best massage therapists in the country. And I plan on continuing my education to be able to bring the best that massage can offer to my clients. I am state licensed, nationally certified and insured through the American Massage Therapy Association. There are so many wonderful benefits that receiving regular massage brings and I look forward to helping you and connecting with you as you travel down that road!
Cori- Licensed Massage Therapist
Hi! I am recent graduate of Cortiva Institute, and I am grateful to begin my career here with Blu Rain. I am excited to meet you and work with you on a plan to improve your overall well-being with the help of massage therapy. I believe in the benefits of receiving massage on a regular basis which include but not limited to health and wellness, stress, anxiety, headaches, and an overall balance of mind and body. First and most importantly, everyone needs relief from stress. Studies show that massage therapy can be an safe, natural, and effective tool in managing stress. In my opinion, massage therapy gives one the opportunity to be still, calm, relaxed, and breathe, all which are necessities.
Linda - Licensed Massage Therapist
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and Board Certified in Massage and Bodywork. I graduated from the College of Lake County in September 2009. I find myself drawn to the therapeutic and holistic aspect of massage. I believe massage helps the body heal itself, and I want to share this with all I come into contact with.
Communicating with my client is also a vital component to my massage practice. I provide an integrative massage session, individualized for each client's needs, in order to facilitate healing, relieve pain and increase body awareness, while also considering the client’s profession and physical activity to guide me to which modalities would address their specific issues the best.
I specialize in deep tissue and sport’s massage, but also thoroughly enjoy giving a relaxing Swedish massage. Continuing my education is very important to me, as I am always eager to learn something new I can bring to the massage session. I approach each session with the idea that the client and I work as a team with one common goal – their health and wellness.
Amanda - Licensed Massage Therapist
Amanda studied massage at Harper College in Palatine, IL. Modalities of massage she is fluent in include: swedish, deep tissue, table thai, and trigger point massage with heavy influence of myofascial release and Lomi Lomi (a Hawaiian modality of massage). She is a certified reiki master/teacher, a powerful but gentle Japanese energy healing technique. She also has a certification in John F. Barnes style of myofascial release. Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Amanda's style is gentle and slow but very calculated and powerful. Every massage she gives varies in combination of techniques and modalities to create a truly individualized healing session for her clients based on their unique needs. She uses information you give her along with her intuition to treat the body/mind/spirit holistically and not as individual units. She has something in her bag of techniques for every one and every condition from young to old and everywhere in between.

Hello everyone! My name is Alexa, and I am very excited to be a therapist at Blu Rain Massage. I graduated from The Soma Institute in July of 2016. Though I am a recent graduate and new to massage, my strive to help people live a better life is never ending. The body is truly an amazing thing, and the benefits that massage can have to it is a list that can go on and on. We were asked in school what we were excited for to get out of massage; my answer, to truly help and make a difference in a person’s life, whether that change be drastic or little. So far, my strengths include Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point release, myofascial work, sports massage, and lymphatic drainage. I look forward to meeting all of you and help make a change in your life!
Aurelia - Licensed Massage Therapist
Hello everyone I am very excited to start a journey with each and everyone of you! I believe everyone who crosses our paths is for a reason, to help each other heal in one way or another. I am a licensed Aesthetician in both the state of Wisconsin and Illinois. During my esthetics training I attended two very different schools in both states. Once I fully completed my first program at The salon professional Academy in Wisconsin, I then continued on to the Estelle Skin Care and Spa Institute in Skokie,Illinois. Between the education of the two schools I felt well rounded in aesthetics and because of this choice I discovered my love for massage. This lead me to The European massage Therapy school in Skokie which is the sister school of Estelle. Here I learned Arthrokinematics which is a form of body mobilization techniques, this aids in range of motion with joint capsules allowing for better overall movement in the body. I look forward to working with all of you.

Bernadette - Licensed Massage Therapist
Hi, my name is Bernadette Forrester. I've been a massage therapist for 24 years and am state licensed, nationally certified and a long standing member of the American Massage Therapy Association. My abiding interest is in the body mind connection and the incredible applications it holds for healing and general wellness. My range of experience includes Swedish, pre-natal, deep tissue, neuro muscular, myo-facial release and trigger point therapy as well as other customized modalities geared toward individual disabilities and needs. I first became interested in massage due to my brother's condition of cerebral palsy but, over time, I've seen countless cases where massage therapy acts not only to help heal but also to help expand our level of vitality and well being, even if specific symptoms are not an issue. Because I grew up "internationally" with my schooling in South America as well as the United States, I am bi-lingual in English and Spanish. That, plus the fact that I have traveled to many countries during my time in the travel industry, makes me very comfortable and familiar with many different cultures and points of view. So, whether you like to hear nothing but music during a massage or if you enjoy a good conversation during a session, my goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and relaxed so that your natural energy can flow more freely. I look forward to meeting you.

Richelle- Licensed Massage Therapist
As a former client, I am absolutely thrilled to now be a part of Blu Rain Massage Studio! Since I was very young, I have had a strong empathy towards other’s pain and hardships, seeking to help however I could. I have come to believe, as many do, that wellness needs to always start from a holistic, total body-mind-spirit approach. After suffering for several years with chronic pain, I started my own journey to wellness by incorporating practices that have addressed each of these areas. In fact, I chose chronic pain as my focus for an 8 week case study while in school. I indeed have a passion for and experience helping those with chronic pain! As an Usui Reiki Practitioner and Energy Worker for the last several years, I believe massage therapy to be a natural extension of energy work. Forming the perfect bridge between the two, my development as a Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner has been truly exciting! CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch modality that interfaces with the craniosacral system, the soft tissue and fluid that protect your brain and spinal cord. Through life stresses and injuries, this system can be adversely affected, thereby affecting every other system in the body. These tensions can be released so that that body can heal itself. I am a graduate of Academic Excellence in an intensive 750 hour program at Cortiva Institute - Chicago School of Massage Therapy, as well as trained in Craniosacral Therapy through the international Upledger Organization. By utilizing circulatory work, Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral and other clinical techniques, with the energy work, new levels of health a wellness can be reached. I so love this work and I am very excited to complete many continuing education hours that will only enhance these approaches. I am a member and insured though AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), a Medallion member with IAHP (International Association of Healthcare Practitioners), and am a Usui Reiki Master Teacher. In my spare time, I teach classes on energy work, opening intuition and meditation techniques, a strong interest in herbalism, writing my blog, developing a growing jewelry business, as well as continuing all my personal studies that enhance the mind-body-spirit. I look forward to seeing you soon and helping you along your path to total wellness!
